Music Camps


The ULM School of Visual and Performing Arts hosts summer music camps for middle and high school students. Staff includes both ULM faculty and excellent guest instructors. With a perfect blend of excellent instruction and fun experiences, you won’t want to miss these!

Sound of Today Middle School Band Camp (Day Camp) 

Middle school students entering grades 6-8 with at least one year of band experience are welcome to attend this camp, featuring a concert band led by Mr. Larry Lashley, Director of Bands at East Ouachita Junior High School. Campers will also experience instrumental sessions with ULM faculty, music theory lessons, and other exciting camp activities!

Sound of Today High School Band Camp (Day or Overnight Camp) 

This camp features specialties in Drum Major, Drumline, Leadership, Concert Band, Color Guard and Twirling. Clinicians include Duane King (“The President’s Own” Band), Mr. Evan McCormick (Director of Bands at Benton High School), Mr. Walter Moss (Director of Bands at Ruston High School), Dr. Kathryn Irwin (Director of Percussion at ULM), and more! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to improve your skills and have a ton of fun!
