2024-2025 Staff Senate Nominations & Elections
Available Thursday, April 11, 2024, through Friday, April 19, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
To be eligible to hold a Staff Senate seat, you must be a full-time ULM unclassified
employee and have been hired on or before March 15, 2023. Any unclassified employee
represented by the Staff Senate, regardless of part- or full-time status or hire date,
can nominate any eligible fellow employee. You can also nominate yourself. The nomination
form and election information can be found here:
There are 11 (11) seats available in the following divisions:
- 3 Seat(s) in Academic Affairs
- 3 Seat(s) in President's Office
- 2 Seat(s) in Enrollment Management & University Relations
- 1 Seat(s) in Information Services & Student Success
- 2 Seat(s) in Student Affairs
There are no seats available in the following divisions:
- While there are no seats available, nominations will still be taken. In the event
that a term cannot be completed through the year, the senate will have a list of interested
employees to consider.
Staff Senate Elections
Available Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 8 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.
To be eligible to vote in this election, you must be a full-time, ULM unclassified
employee. You may only vote for nominees within your Organizational Unit.
For example, eligible voters within the Student Affairs Organizational Unit will vote
for Student Affairs nominees. Likewise, eligible voters within the Vice President
for Enrollment Management and University Relations Organizational Unit will vote for
Enrollment Management and University Relations nominees.
Why should you participate in the Staff Senate? Great question!
If you are interested in promoting the general welfare of the university, providing
input on issues impacting staff and encouraging communication across campus, consider
becoming involved as a senator. Meetings of the Staff Senate are held once per month
during the academic year (August – May). Senate meetings are normally one hour in
length.
All meetings take place during regular working hours. Senators are encouraged to become
involved in one of several committees that have been established. The work of these
committees takes place outside of regular senate meetings. The time required of committee
members varies depending on the focus and charge.
Make a difference at ULM and consider nominating yourself or a colleague for a Senate
Seat.
