Licensure
Dental Hygienists must complete an accredited university curriculum and pass National,
Regional, and State Board Examinations in order to be licensed to practice. Licensure
certifies that the person is qualified to perform the dental hygiene functions permitted
in the Louisiana State Dental Practice Act.
