ULM Employer Policy

National Association of Colleges and Employers and Equal Employment Opportunity

As an employer, you have certain rights and responsibilities of which you should be aware. The ULM Career Development Office closely follows guidelines for professional conduct set forth by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). NACE has composed principles for professional practice in the recruiting process, of which you should review, as well as the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) recruitment and employment guidelines and laws established by the Federal and Louisiana governments.

Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse service to employers for factors such as the following:

  1. Misrepresentation by dishonest information or absence of information.

  2. Complaints by students.

  3. Harassment of ULM students, alumni, or staff.

  4. Breach of confidentiality.

  5. Requiring, at the time of application, personal information such as bank and social security numbers.

  6. Positions not likely of interest to college students or alumni.

  7. Requiring students to pay personal funding to obtain the position.

  8. Failure to adhere to Career Development policies and/or any violation of ULM rules and regulations, and local, state, or federal laws.
