ULM to host fairs March 12 and March 14
The University of Louisiana at Monroe will host two upcoming fairs: the 2013 Region III Science and Engineer Fair on Tuesday, March 12, and the 2013 Region III Social Studies Fair on Thursday, March 14.
Both fairs will be held at ULM’s Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
2013 Region III Science and Engineering Fair
The fair is divided into two categories.
The senior category is open to grades 9-12, and the junior category is open to grades 4-8. The awards ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m.
Public viewing of the 88 projects will be from 12-2:30 p.m.

2013 Region III Social Studies Fair
This will be the 47th consecutive year in which ULM has hosted the Social Studies Regional Fair.
Students in grades 4-12 from all schools in nine Northeast Louisiana parishes, and Monroe City, will participate.
A record-breaking number of projects have been entered in the 2013 Regional Social Studies Fair: 486 individual and group projects. In perspective, last year students entered 395 projects in the fair.
The public is invited to view the students’ projects from 12:30-1:30 p.m., and attend the Awards Ceremony from 1:30 -2:30 p.m., on Thursday, March 14, in the ULM Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
The Regional Social Studies Fair is a joint project of the College of Education and Human Development, and the College of Arts and Sciences.
Dr. Jerrilene Washington and Dr. John Sutherlin serve as co-directors of the fair.
Region III includes public, charter, home, and private schools in the following Louisiana Parishes: Caldwell, East Carroll, Franklin, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas, and West Carroll. Additionally, charter schools in other nearby locales also participate in the fair.
