ULM Department of Music to present spring concert March 26

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Concert Choir, Orchestra, and Chamber Singers will present "A Tapestry of Song," at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, in ULM's Brown Auditorium.

This event is free and open to the public.

This spring concert will be directed by Dr. Deborah Chandler, director of choral activities, and Dr. Jason Rinehart, director of orchestra.

The Concert Choir is ULM's premiere choral ensemble.

This choir performs a variety of literature both sacred and secular.

In addition to the seasonal concerts given during the academic year, the group sings for and serves as one of the recruiting ensembles for the Department of Music by performing at high schools and colleges in the area.

ULM's Symphony Orchestra is currently made up of approximately 50 musicians, and has experienced a great deal of growth in recent years.

Additional orchestral ensembles include the Chamber Orchestra, String Orchestra, String Quartets, and Orchestral Winds. Current membership includes students representing virtually every academic program within the university.

The Chamber Singers are a select group of 20-24 voices.

The group performs accompanied and a cappella music of all styles and periods.

They sing at social functions in the community and serve as a recruiting ensemble for the Department of Music.
