Miss LA 2013 Jaden Leach adds to ULM's crowning achievements
Jaden Leach, a junior political science major at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, captured the 2013 Miss Louisiana title at the Monroe Civic Center's Jack Howard Theater on June 29.
She is the fourth ULM student in the past five years to win the crown.
Leach, of West Monroe, said it was a “truly a treat” to be named the fourth ULM student in the past five years to win the crown.
“ULM got that crown back this year,” she said. “I will take a year off now that I’m Miss Louisiana, and then I will have one year left of political science at ULM. After that, I plan to attend law school.”
Her platform is "Children at Risk," and her talent is vocal performance. She sang “Can’t Let Go.” Leach, who competed as Miss Spirit of the Ouachita, is the daughter of Martha and Don Leach.
With Miss America now in September, Leach will spend the bulk of the next few months preparing for the national stage.
