ULM's Bradford Keeney now part of "Living Spiritual Teachers Project"

University of Louisiana at Monroe professor, Hannah Spyker Eminent Scholars Chair and Director of the Creative Systemic Studies Doctoral Program in the Department of Behavioral Sciences, Bradford Keeney, Ph.D. can now add "living spiritual teacher" to his expansive résumé.

Keeney sees his new title as a special tribute to his teachers.

He stated, "Over the last four decades, I have had the privilege of learning from great spiritual teachers and healers throughout the world, especially those less know by modern traditions. Now I am delighted to honor my teachers by passing on the wisdom they held in their lives."

The "Living Spiritual Teachers Project" in New York City is a part of Spirituality and Practice, a nonprofit organization that oversees and evaluates spiritual teaching worldwide.

The "Living Spiritual Teachers Project" has chosen and honored around one hundred prominent spiritual leaders and teachers from around the globe including the Dalai Lama, Thomas Moore, Desmond Tutu, and Ram Dass.

The directors of the project, Frederick and Mary Ann Brussat said, "Dr. Keeney is a perfect fit for the honorary position as the founder of a psychotherapy that emphasizes creativity as well as a teacher of embodied, ecstatic spirituality."

Keeney received a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Purdue University, a Master of Arts degree from the University of Missouri, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University.

Keeney joined the ULM faculty in 2010.
