ULM Water Ski Team places first in 2013 ULL Fleur de Ski Tournament
The University of Louisiana at Monroe Water Ski Team celebrated its latest victory at the 2013 University of Louisiana at Lafayette Fleur de Ski Water Ski Tournament on April 20 in Zachary.
Treina Landrum, ULM Director of Recreational Services and ULM Water Ski team coach, said, "ULL's Water Ski Team continues to be one of our fiercest competitors. We take both their talent and desire to win seriously. Our victory at the ULL Fleur de Ski Tournament inspires us to work even harder to be ready for the fall 2013 competition season as we strive to win our 25th National Championship."
ULM's Water Ski Team won its 24th national championship in October 2012.
The combined team results are as follows:
ULM scored a total of 1,730.01 points in the Slalom competition; 1,570.02 in the Trick competition, and 1,610.01 in the Jump competition, for an overall score of 4,915 points.
ULM bested second place ULL by 110 points.
Landrum said, "Our kids did a good job, excellent skiing for this time of year...The men's jump competition at the tournament was truly memorable. Our men were giving jump performances that I have never seen so early in the competition season."
