Estis to present at Rutgers
On Friday, Sept. 21, Catherine Estis, Ph.D., executive director for the University of Louisiana at Monroe’s TRIO Programs, will be presenting at Rutgers University’s fifth Annual Performance Measuring and Reporting Conference in Trenton, N.J.
The theme of the conference is “Great Expectation: Getting Results from Performance Budgeting, Measurement, and Reporting Systems, ” which aims to address topics regarding public performance and highlighting examples of government organization leaders in the field actively pursuing performance regimes.
Estis will present “Enabling More Data Based Decision Making: Using Evidence-Based Outcomes to Justify Public Sector Programs, A Quantitative Study.”
According to Estis, her presentation covers evidence-based program evaluation, which can be a powerful tool to effectively make the case for an organization’s success and continued existence.
Using quantitative tools, Estis’ research provides a model whereby programs can take a hard look at answering the following questions:
- Can you explain what you do, why you do it, and the impact of your efforts?
- Are you a best practice, and how do you compare to the national benchmarks?
Estis believes effective program evaluations can answer these questions and improve processes and outcomes.
