ULM Alumni Chapter of the Year awarded to Northwest Louisiana
The University of Louisiana at Monroe Alumni Association recently announced that its Alumni Chapter for the 2011-2012 year is the Northwest Louisiana Alumni Chapter.
"This very active group assists ULM in recruiting, year in and year out," said ULM Associate Director of Alumni Relations Tommy Walpole.
Walpole added that the Northwest Louisiana Chapter hosts a Scholarship Golf Scramble that is responsible for funding two scholarships per year to students from that area who are attending ULM.
In addition, the group hosts an annual alumni reception and silent auction, as well as annual traditions such as football watch parties and happy hour events.
Chapter President Will Mulhearn expressed his appreciation upon hearing of the award.
"My time at ULM was great and I want to make sure to continue to give back to my university," he said.
"We have a great group of alums in this area, and we will work to do even more for ULM in the future."
