ULM student's photo chosen for new phone book cover
University of Louisiana at Monroe history major Robert Wright of Monroe recently snapped the winning photograph that was selected by AT&T to grace the cover of the new phone book.
According to Wright, earlier this year, the city of Monroe was notified that Monroe Regional Airport would be featured on the cover of the new phone book.
Wright contacted Interim Airport Manager Ron Phillips to obtain clearance to use getting the FAA airport tower to take the photograph.
"I spent about 20 minutes out on the landing taking photographs of the entire airport complex," said Wright.
Wright received a text notifying him that he needed to attend an 11 a.m. press conference on Thursday, May 3.
To his surprise, he was informed that it was his photo that would be featured on the new phonebook.
"I was just as excited as those in attendance at the unveiling of the cover," explained Wright.
"I had not looked at the images since I took them. The photograph looked great on the cover, and I am honored to have been selected for the spotlight."
