ULM's Beutner serves as judge for LearningElite event

Dr. Mike Beutner, associate professor of curriculum and instruction at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, recently participated as a judge for "Chief Learning Officer" magazine's prestigious LearningElite event.

"In the corporate environment, 'Chief Learning Officer' is the premier magazine for leaders in corporations to address modern best practices in eLearning for cost-effective workforce training," said Beutner.

"In my opinion, it is the best and most influential periodical in the field of eLearning for corporations."

Each year, "Chief Learning Officer" has an international contest called "LearningElite." Top corporations vie for this honor.

According to the magazine, its purpose is to "identify and recognize industry leaders…and to identify and share best practices, principles and strategies for learning and development," among others.

The topics directly tie into the work being done at ULM, according to Beutner.

"Our 100 percent online graduate program in Instructional Technology provides project-based practical applications of eLearning skills that can directly benefit any workforce in meeting modern challenges," he said.

The ULM program is designed to apply technologies in addressing the needs of keeping "knowledge workers" up to date with web-based strategies to enhance workforce productivity and effectiveness.
