ULM SBDC to hold "Choosing the Right Legal Form of Organization for Your Business" workshop March 27
The University of Louisiana at Monroe Small Business Development Center will conduct a free workshop for business owners and others interested in starting their own business, or who are currently operating as a sole proprietorship, on Tuesday, March 27, from 6-8 p.m. in ULM's George T. Walker Hall, Room 2-49.
In this workshop on Louisiana entities, participants will learn about the various legal forms of organization (Partnerships, Limited Partnerships, LLPs, LLCs, Corporations, S Corps.); how the choice of legal form can protect personal assets from exposure to liability; some of the basic formation and tax considerations that are impacted by the legal form of organization; and some of the management issues and concerns faced by various legal forms.
The speaker will be Elizabeth Guerriero, J.D., associate professor of business law at ULM.
