ULM employee receives prestigious certification

Susan Duggins, director of the Northeast Louisiana Business and Community Development Center (NLBCDC) at the University of Louisiana Monroe, recently completed the National Business Incubation Association’s Incubator Management Certificate Program.

Dr. Ron Berry, Dean of the College of Business said, “We are very proud of Susan and appreciate her efforts in earning this certification. The expertise gained through the certification process will prove very valuable to our incubator clients.”

The educational program provides a comprehensive and practical overview of the tasks and responsibilities of managing business incubators.

The certificate program is designed to enhance managers’ skills and to provide them with opportunities to gain ideas for building stronger relationships with key constituents, providing effective client services, ensuring incubator sustainability and more.

Funded by grants provided through the Small Business Administration and affiliated with the ULM College of Business, the incubator offers office space, support services, training, networking and mentoring opportunities to business owners and nonprofit organizations.
