ULM Rad Tech students achieve perfect passage rate

The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Radiologic Technology program’s 2012 spring graduating class achieved a 100 percent first-time passage rate on the registry national exam.

The 2011 graduating class achieved the same feat.

The registry national is the exam every radiologic technologist must pass to become a registered technologist and earn a national level of certification.

"The faculty continue to prepare these students to be the best entry level technologists they can be,” said Brett Bennett, assistant professor and head of ULM's Department of Radiologic Technology.

“This score, when added to the recent history, is just one measure of that dedication and our success.”

The designation of “first-time passage rate” indicates a measure of success for the program.

Candidates can take the exam up to four times, but ULM’s graduating radiologic technologists each passed on their first attempt. 

The test is administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, which determines which criteria a program must meet for its graduates to be able to take the registry exam.

In addition, 100 percent of ULM’s radiologic technology graduates were awarded Louisiana licenses—another accomplishment that was achieved in 2011.

Louisiana awards its licenses for radiologic technology based on the passing of the national registry exam.
