CenturyLink employees donate to ULM Career Connections
On Aug. 14, the Louisiana Chapter of CenturyLink Women hosted the "CenturyLink Wears It Well" Style Show.
The style show culminated with CenturyLink employees donating gently-used business clothing for the Career Closet at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
CenturyLink donated the clothing as an investment in young ULM professionals entering the workforce.
“We are so excited and grateful to the Louisiana Chapter of CenturyLink Women for their generous support to ULM,” said Roslynn Pogue, director of Career Connections and Experiential Education.
“The donations received for our Career Closet will not only aid students needing professional wear for their job interviews but it will also provide encouragement in their continued endeavors in finding employment in the workforce.”
Approximately 500 CenturyLink employees attended the show, which illustrated proper business attire and examples of what not to wear in different business situations.
The featured models were from several CenturyLink departments.
ULM’s Office of Career Connections and Experiential Education holds a similar event for students every fall, which includes students modeling work-place fashions for those looking for guidance on how to dress to impress.
ULM’s fall 2012 CCEE Style Show will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19 on the 2nd floor of the Student Union Building.
