Bestselling author Leo Honeycutt speaks Sept. 29 during Investiture Week
ULM alum Leo Honeycutt, noted author and the official biographer of Louisiana Gov. Edwin Edwards, will speak at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 29, in the University Conference Center, as part of "Discover ULM's Excellence" Investure Week.
His professional journey includes appearances on ABC's Good Morning America, coverage of then President-elect Bill Clinton and now-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Arkansas, and notoriety as a best-selling author.
In 2004, after reading Honeycutt's acclaimed novel, Over the Edge, former Louisiana Gov. Edwin Edwards contacted him about writing his biography.
At the end of five years of interviews and exhaustive research, the 621-page Edwin Edwards, Governor of Louisiana, An Authorized Biography by Leo Honeycutt, was published to rave reviews in December 2009.
The first printing of 10,000 copies sold out in just three days. At 50,000 copies sold in 18 months, the biography is Louisiana's bestselling book of all time, winning the Louisiana Literary Award and Louisiana History Preservation Award.
Honeycutt is President of Honeycutt Communications, Inc., affiliated with Alfred Geduldig of New York, marketing strategist for Fortune 500 companies.
Honeycutt graduated from ULM with a BBA in finance in 1977.
