Investiture guest Gilliam to speak Sept. 27; featured in HBO documentary

ULM alum Vicki Gilliam will speak at 7 p.m, Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the ULM Conference Center, located on the seventh floor of the library, as part of the university's "Discover ULM's Excellence" Investiture celebration.

Gilliam earned national recognition for her work representing 650 members of a Native American tribe in Ringwood, N.J., in a lawsuit against Ford Motor Co.  

Her work is featured in the HBO documentary Mann v. Ford.

Gilliam was named one of the 500 Leading Litigators in America, one of the 500 Leading Plaintiff Lawyers in America, one of the 3000 Leading Lawyers in America and one of the 50 Leading Business Women in Mississippi.

She was also recently nominated as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in the Law and was named as one of 2009's Mid-South Super Lawyers.

Gilliam earned a B.A in social studies and a M.A in history from ULM.
