High School Marching Festival Competition set for Oct. 25 at ULM
The University of Louisiana at Monroe Sound of Today will host the annual District 1 Band Director's Association High School Marching Festival Tuesday, Oct. 25 at Malone Stadium on the ULM campus.
There will be eight high school marching bands from Northeast Louisiana who will perform for an expert panel of judges.
Bands will receive a rating of one, two, three, or four, with "one" being the best rating possible for that performance. The rating is designated with a Roman numeral corresponding to the rating number received.
Bands that receive ones in all areas of performance are also said to have won "sweepstakes."
The first band will perform at 5:30 p.m. and the evening will conclude with an exhibition performance by the ULM Sound of Today marching band at 8:10 p.m.
There is a $3 admission charge for the festival.
ULM students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid ULM identification card.
