Miss Louisiana 2011 and ULM alum Hope Anderson to be featured at Miss America Style Show Nov. 20

University of Louisiana at Monroe alum and Miss Louisiana 2011 Hope Anderson will be featured at the annual Miss America Style Show Sunday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. at ULM's Biedenharn Recital Hall.

The style show, hosted by ULM, will give Anderson an opportunity to showcase her talent and wardrobe selections for the Miss America Pageant.

Anderson is a Monroe native and ULM graduate with a degree in mass communications.

She was crowned Miss Louisiana on June 25, 2011, and has since worked very hard promoting her platform "Pilots for Patients" and preparing for the Miss America Pageant.

"It's still somewhat surreal that I get to represent our great state at the Miss America Pageant in January," Anderson said.

This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime chance that only a few women get, and I am honored to be Louisiana's representative!

"Holding this title has been the most rewarding experience and has given me every tool I need to confidently compete in Las Vegas... I'm preparing harder than ever for January and leaving the results up to God, but I'm certainly hoping for the best!"

The Miss America Pageant will occur at the Planet Hollywood Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nev., Jan. 10–14.

Each contestant will compete in interview, evening gown, swimsuit, talent, and on stage question categories.

Preliminary competition will be Jan. 10-12, and the live televised finals will air on ABC at on Jan. 14.
