ULM garners statewide media attention for teacher preparation programs

The College of Education and Human Development at University of Louisiana at Monroe continues to receive state and national attention for the quality of its alternative certification teacher preparation program.

Recently, Louisiana Public Broadcasting Education Reporter Sue Lincoln traveled from Baton Rouge upon a recommendation from Louisiana Superintendent of Education Paul Pastorek.

ULM's Master of Arts in Teaching is one of the top programs in the country for producing quality teachers who are prepared to lead their classrooms from day one.

LPB aired the segment at 7 p.m., April 22, during the regularly scheduled program "Louisiana: The State We're In."

The broadcast does not mark the first time the program has received notoriety from major media outlets.

On Nov. 18 and 19, 2010, American Public Media's Marketplace program aired a two-part feature on about the school based on a visit from Marketplace's Education Reporter Amy Scott, who reported her findings following a campus visit Oct. 26-27.
