ULM's Annual Spring Melt Down encourages campus to get "In it to Win it"
The University of Louisiana at Monroe's Activity Center encourages members of the campus family to learn better habits while losing weight and inches with its Seventh Annual Spring Melt Down!
The Melt Down competition is a six-week program offering exercise guidance and nutritional information to help people reach goals and stick to New Year's resolutions. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members are invited to shed those extra pounds, firm their muscles, and feel better than ever.
Registration is $5 per person and the initial weigh-in is Monday, Feb. 7, in the Activity Center Lounge. Stop by anytime between the hours of 11 a.m. -1 p.m. and 4 – 7 p.m. Registration is available both to individuals and three-member teams. Each person registered as an individual will compete for the "individual" money collected and each team registered will compete for the "team" money collected. Money collected through registration is awarded at the end of the program.
Points will be tracked through email and will be awarded for positive behaviors such as exercising, eating well and drinking plenty of water. Points are also awarded on the basis of percentage of weight and inches lost.
To keep participants motivated, there is a weigh-in midway through the program and a final weigh-in at the end. After the final weigh-in, points will be totaled and the first, second and third place winners will be awarded in each category. So grab your friends and be "In it to Win It" and reach your goals at the Activity Center!
