Mathematics teachers invited to ULM campus for mini-conference Feb. 26
The fifth annual Northeast Louisiana Association of Teachers of Mathematics Mini-Conference will be held Saturday, Feb. 26, in the Hemphill Airway and Computer Science Building at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Mathematics teachers from this area and surrounding parishes will share, learn and discover unique techniques that will inspire students in the classroom.
Over 25 talented speakers will focus on various strands of mathematics including algebra, geometry, and probability and will cover a range of grade-level expectations
Participants will be able to select from nearly 30 session topics including "Hands On Math for the Elementary Classroom," "Singapore Math Strategies," "Math Magic," "Putting Math to Music," and more.
The conference offers an excellent networking opportunity for pre-service, elementary and secondary teachers, as well as mathematics teachers from institutions of higher education.
Participants will also be able to earn up to three one-hour Continuing Learning Units, which will contribute to their continuing education requirements.
Onsite registration and check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 26 with the sessions running from 8:30 a.m. - Noon. A registration form may be found at www.nelatm.org.
