UNC Board of Governors honors ULM Alum for Teaching Excellence
A University of Louisiana at Monroe alumnus was recently chosen as an outstanding faculty member from Fayetteville State University in North Carolina, and he was one of 17 chosen for the 17th Annual Awards for Excellence in Teaching.
Associate Professor Dr. Todd Frobish, an Interim Chair in the Department of Communications at FSU, earned a master's degree from ULM, formerly Northeast Louisiana University, and his doctorate from Pennsylvania State University.
The Board of Governors of the multi-campus University of North Carolina makes the selections each year and each award winner receives a commemorative bronze medallion and a $7,500 cash prize.
Frobish, who has been employed at FSU since 2003, was nominated by special committees on his home campus and selected by the Board of Governors Committee on Personnel and Tenure.
Frobish will receive his award May 7 during FSU's 144th Spring Commencement.
Established by the Board of Governors in 1994 to underscore the importance of teaching and to reward good teaching across the University, the awards are given annually to a tenured faculty member from each UNC campus.
Winners must have taught at their present institutions at least seven years.
