ULM Professor Emeritus elected president of state association
A Professor Emeritus of Education at the University of Louisiana at Monroe was elected president of the Louisiana School Facility Managers Association at its annual Spring Conference in April.
Dr. Bob N. Cage, a co-founder of the organization in 1994, is serving as president for the second time, having filled that position in 2003-2004.
Dr. Cage served ULM for nearly 24 years. His ULM career began as the Dean of the College of Education and Human Development in July 1986 and he retired as a Professor of Education in December 2009.
The membership of LSFMA is composed primarily of school facility managers from school districts across the state, but also includes business vendors who supply school districts with supplies, building materials, and equipment.
Their mission is to provide for the exchange of information that will improve school facility management, maintenance and operation by promoting acceptable policies, standards, and practices in the schools of Louisiana.
As president, Cage will host a meeting of the organization in October and again in April 2012 at the Paragon Resort in Marksville.
