ULM Child Development Center Director selected to serve on state committee
The director of the University of Louisiana Monroe Child Development Center will serve on a state agency committee responsible for revising Louisiana’s current licensing standards.
ULM Child Development Center Director Emily Williamson, the only university representative and one of only two north Louisianans on the committee, joins a select group of 20 who will review the standards administered for Class A Child Care Facilities.
“There are two types of child care facilities in Louisiana,” said Williamson. “Class A facilities are held to more stringent standards compared with Class B facilities. It is an honor to be selected as the only person to represent a university in this capacity.”
Williamson will serve on the Department of Social Services Louisiana Child Care Center Class A Standards Revision Work Group for a period of one year.
