ULM Endowed Professor invited to speak at international conference
Dr. Paul W. Sylvester, Pfizer Endowed Professor of Pharmacology and Director of Graduate Studies and Research at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, is invited to speak July 29-30 at the First International Conference on “Tocotrienols & Chronic Diseases” in Las Vegas.
Sylvester will be speaking on “Synergistic Anticancer Effects of Combination gamma-Tocotrienol Treatment with other Chemotherapeutic Agents.”
Tocotrienols, an extract from palm oil, received final notification of its status as a product generally recognized as safe from the Food and Drug Administration on April 26, meaning that it can now be incorporated into food products. The extract is not widely known in the U.S., as it is yet to be recognized and listed in the U.S. Dietary Guidelines.
The conference is open to doctors, dieticians, pharmacists, food technologist, researchers and scientists including graduate students.
