Alum writes about personal connections

A University of Louisiana at Monroe alum has written a book published by Tate Publishing in Oklahoma City.

Johnny Fatheree, a 1976 graduate of ULM with a degree in animal science, recently wrote "Plug Into People – How to Have ‘em at Hello", which suggests that the art of connecting one-on-one with others seems lost in the world of Internet chat rooms and e-mailing.

Fatheree said he believes these personal connections are paramount in developing strong, long-lasting relationships.

“Connecting is the first step toward building strong relationships and creating the memories we depend upon to carry us through life,” said Fatheree, in a recent statement about his work.

He said he hopes readers find the concepts in the book will improve their relationships and contribute to their personal and professional success.

Fatheree served two years in the United State Marine Corps before finishing his bachelor’s degree at ULM. He lives with his wife Connie in Aubrey, Texas, but still spends many days at his fishing camp on Lake D’Arbonne.
