Finance professor earns accreditation from national organization
University of Louisiana at Monroe Professor of Finance Dr. Michael E. Parker recently earned an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation from Fiduciary360.
Parker serves as ULM's department chair of finance and business law and earned the designation as the culmination of a two-day course and examination.
Fiduciary360 is a Pittsburgh-based organization that provides training, tools and resources to promote a culture of financial responsibility and improve the financial decision-making process. Parker's AIF designation signifies knowledge of fiduciary responsibility and the ability to implement policies and procedures that meet a defined standard of care.
Fiduciary 360 is the first full-time training and research facility for fiduciaries, and conducts training programs at universities throughout the United States and abroad.
In addition to the AIF, the organization also offers the Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analystâ„¢ designation, making those who earn the designation the only recognized professionals trained to perform fiduciary assessments, which measure how well investment professionals are fulfilling the fiduciary duties required of them by the applicable investment legislation, case law, and regulatory opinion letters.
"The College congratulates Dr. Parker on this outstanding accomplishment," said ULM College of Business Administration Dean Ronald Berry. "He is well known as an outstanding teacher and this new certification signifies his continued effort to bring the most current financial knowledge to the classroom."
