ULM presents Spring Fusion Dance Concert April 30
The School of Visual and Performing Art Repertory Dance Ensemble at the University of Louisiana at Monroe will perform the Spring Fusion Dance Concert at 7:30 p.m. on April 30 at Brown Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.
This spring's concert will premiere new works by both students and faculty. The student pieces range from contemporary ballet and modern dance to jazz and hip-hop.
The faculty work will focus on Broadway, jazz and visual art. A few of the Broadway dance selections include “The Pajama Game,” “Chicago” and “Cabaret” choreographed by Robin Stephens, assistant professor of dance, as well as “Sophisticated Ladies” presented by Gretchen Jones, instructor of dance.
Tina Mullone, assistant professor of dance, will present several new works with music by Charles Mingus, Nina Simone and Wyclef Jean. There will also be a repeat performance of the Black History Month program at this year's concert.
