ULM’s Public Relations students attend national event
Members of University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Public Relations Student Society of America chapter recently attended National Assembly in Austin, Texas.
The assembly, held every spring semester, gives PRSSA chapters from around the country the opportunity to elect the group’s new national committee.
The chapter’s four officers attended the March 12-14 event: President Michael Canty, a communication graduate student from Morgan City; Vice President Jennifer Hill, a mass communication senior from Pineville; Secretary Ainsley Malmay, a mass communication senior from Mangham; and Treasurer Brandy Heckford, a mass communication junior from West Monroe.
Each chapter is allowed one member to serve as delegate who votes on behalf of the chapter for the national committee. Heckford, the group’s president-elect for the fall semester, attended the assembly as the chapter delegate.
“This was a great opportunity for the chapter to continue to raise our profile nationally,” said Canty. “I’m proud that our chapter played a role in moving our organization forward, as well as representing ULM favorably.”
