ULM students awarded internships from the North American Spanish Language Academy
Two University of Louisiana at Monroe students recently received internships with the North American Spanish Language Academy.
Walter Migaud, a Spanish major from Ball, and Jesse Wells, a double major in English and Spanish from Downsville, will work with Dr. Christian Rubio on a project to launch the publishing outlet of ANLE. Rubio and the students are gathering data and will soon start the marketing plans for the project.
Rubio met with the ANLE board of directors on April 8 in Teachers College, New York, to officially present the project and set specific goals. The internships will last until the spring of 2011 but, according to Rubio, “this is just the beginning of the project. ANLE more than likely will decide to have these internships every year. Therefore, there is a possibility of renewal and other openings might be available in the future.”
ANLE is a branch from the Royal Academy of Spanish Language and is recognized by the US government as the main authority that regulates the Spanish language in the United States.
