ULM staff member honored by international organization
The Society of Research Administration International recently named University of Louisiana at Monroe staff member Rene Hearns to their Distinguished Faculty group.
Hearns serves as director of sponsored programs and research for ULM and also serves until October as an at-large board member of the SRA International.
“The role of ‘Distinguished Faculty’ means that you’ve reached a level of international recognition,” Hearns said. “They (distinguished faculty) represent the organization at various conferences and also develop curriculum for the SRA.”
SRA International trains research administrators from around the world regarding laws and regulations, policies and best practices regarding academic that pertain to research.
The organization is dedicated to the education and professional development of research administrators. It has approximately 5,000 members from both the United States and abroad.
