ULM Honors student elected to the LCHC Executive Council; another presents topic
Eight honors students from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, accompanied by ULM Honors Program Director Dr. Christian Rubio, attended the Louisiana Collegiate Honors Council at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where more than 120 students from honors programs throughout the state participated. The ULM Honors Program participated in the annual quiz bowl, and ULM student Walter Migaud of Alexandria presented "Honors Without Borders."
During the conference, ULM Honors students interacted with other state honors students. At the end of the conference, all students and faculty held elections for the positions of student body vice president and the positions of student representatives for the Executive Council.
ULM honors student Karen Woolie of West Monroe was elected to be one of the two student representatives. Karen will work with the vice president and the other representative and participate in the Executive Council, formed by faculty members. The next LCHC conference will be held at the LSU campus in Baton Rouge in 2010.
