ULM librarian published in quarterly journal

A University of Louisiana at Monroe librarian has written two recent book reviews for the Quarterly Journal of Ideology, an interdisciplinary publication for those interested in ideological issues in all arenas of scholarly inquiry.

Melinda F. Matthews, Interlibrary Loan/Reference Librarian, reviewed “The Village Poet and Collection of Writings” by Leon Newton and “Investigated Reporting Muckrakers, Regulators, and the Struggle Over Television Documentary” by Chad Raphael for volume 31 of the publication.

QJI provides a forum for professionals to critique the conventional wisdom within the areas of their expertise conducted through qualitative rather than quantitative evaluation.

Matthews is listed in the 2008-09 edition of "Marquis Who's Who of American Women,” and also recently served as secretary of the Louisiana Library Association. She earned her master's degree in Library and Information Science from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and a bachelor's degree in English from McNeese State University in Lake Charles.
