Notable musicians perform March 4 at ULM
As part of the Visual School of Performing Arts Guest Artist Concert Series, Paul Morton, trumpet, and Chan Kiat Lim, piano, will perform Wednesday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Emy Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall. General admission is $15 admission and free for ULM students, staff, and faculty.
Dr. Paul Morton is the associate professor of trumpet at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. In addition to graduate and undergraduate trumpet, he also teaches jazz improvisation, high brass pedagogy (trumpet and French horn), conducts the UL Trumpet Ensemble, and coordinates the student brass chamber music program. He regularly performs with the Acadiana Symphony, the Rapides Symphony, the Louisiana Brass Quintet, and the UL Faculty Jazz Combo.
Collaborative pianist Chan Kiat Lim, also a member of the UL Lafayette faculty, is an active recitalist who has performed in the United States, Asia, and Europe. Most recently, he was the Convention Artist at the WVMTA State Convention where he performed the Bartók’s Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra with the WVU Symphony Orchestra. Lim has also performed solo recitals in Italy, Romania, and throughout the United States, including performances at Music At Penn Alps Concert Series in Maryland and Steinway Hall, New York City.
