ULM Jazz Ensemble to play April 28
The University of Louisiana at Monroe Jazz Ensemble will please audiences with its musical mastery Tuesday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Brown Auditorium.
Larry Anderson, associate professor of music, will direct.
This concert is a special event titled: "The Franky Russell Memorial Jazz Ensemble Concert."
Its repertoire includes "Count Bubba's Revenge," by Gordon Goodwin, "Hullabaloo" by Alan Baylock, "Tri-Bop by Bill Liston, "Pecking Order" by Kris Berg, "Trofeo de Bolos" by Craig Skeffington, and many other selections.
The 20-piece big band performs high-energy jazz, Latin-jazz, funk, and swing music.
“This is one of the most popular, exciting concerts given each semester at ULM,” said Matthew James, associate dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts.
There is no charge to attend.
