ULM students offered a special discount for Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival tickets
University of Louisiana Monroe students will enjoy a special admission discount at the annual Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival, set to occur Oct. 25-26 at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. each day.
ULM students may look forward to an entrance fee of $5 with student I.D. Regular admission is $10 per day, and kids 12 and under enter the festival free with an adult. Other military and senior discounts will apply.
The Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival, now in its fourth year, seeks to promote and preserve the rich Celtic heritage of Northeast Louisiana. In addition to the festival’s regional highlights, visitors will enjoy performances by some of the world’s most renowned Celtic musicians and storytellers.
Also on the entertainment agenda: continuous live music, Highland games, Irish dance, authentic cuisine, unique Celtic wares, music workshops, a dance stage, heritage education, children’s crafts, playgrounds and games, a petting zoo, carriage rides, scavenger hunts for kids, and, in short – fun for the entire family.
Festival organizer Molly Pealer mentioned, “We think that the majority of ULM students would especially enjoy the amateur and professional Highland games competition, and performances by two young bands that promise to steal the show. The Zydepunks, one of the most talked about bands on the New Orleans music scene, offer a set that’s described as a high-energy folk-punk dance craze and are favorites at the annual Voodoo Fest. Needfire plays a unique mix of all original high-energy modern rock and traditional Scottish and Irish music and have been rocking the college and club scene throughout the U.S.”
