ULM campus enhanced by new banners celebrating the Warhawk spirit
When Micah Pulliam was elected president of the University of Louisiana Monroe Student Government Association, he had a vision to enhance the campus and college spirit by collaborating with the Campus Activities Board and the administration to purchase new banners.
Pulliam, a senior accounting major from Downsville, recounted the process. “Many samples were viewed and considered in order to get the perfect rendering that reflected the Warhawk and ULM, while enhancing the look of our beautiful campus.”
Approximately 150 banners were ordered to make the transformation in all areas of the campus including the following: University Avenue, Northeast Drive, Warhawk Way, DeSiard Street, and the new Pharmacy Building on Bienville Street.
Pulliam continued, “The banner had to be hung up prior to the first football game in 2008. We had the cooperation of the Physical Plant staff: Bryan Thorn, Chris Ringo, Mark Triplet, and Robert Graham, who mounted the banners to the light poles in phases. We so appreciate their commitment to making this happen for the students. When we first began this project, we wanted all areas of the university to be impacted and that required the commitment and dedication of all parties.
“The SGA would like to thank Dr. James Cofer, Dr. Richard Hood and Dr. Don Skelton for their involvement in selecting a vertical logo and assisting. We would also like to recognize CAB's contributions and would like to thank the SGA Senate for funding this project.”
