ULM’s Lambda Sigma Chapter initiates new members
The Lambda Sigma Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the national Spanish Honor Society, held its fall initiation Thursday, Nov. 20, in the University of Louisiana at Monroe Student Center.
The new members are: Casey Auttonberry (West Monroe), Therese Barron (Saline), Gabriel Bass (Ferriday), Becky Buchanan (Roll, Ariz.), Anne Epperson (Monroe), Julie Landry (Madisonville), Loukia Konstantinidou (Cyprus), Meghan McNease (Monroe), and Destiny Montemayor (Watauga, Texas).
President Nathan Sharplin conducted the ceremony with the assistance of Bray Harris, vice president; Heather Black, secretary; and Peggy Deal, Rachel Hattaway, and Michael Holdiness, current members.
In order to be initiated into Sigma Delta Pi, a student must have an overall GPA of 2.75 and a 3.0 in Spanish. They must also have completed study of an advanced Spanish literature or culture and civilization course.
The Lambda Sigma Chapter was founded in 1976 on the ULM campus and has chapters throughout North America.
