ULM Alumni Association to host official ring ceremony for each graduating class

Each graduating class at the University of Louisiana at Monroe will receive their rings in style, courtesy of the ULM Alumni Association.

Beginning with the Fall 2007 graduating class, the Alumni Association began hosting an official ring ceremony where President James Cofer presented the treasured university keepsake to each student who purchased one. Last semester’s ceremony occurred Saturday morning, Dec. 15.

Andy Holloway of Crowville, who graduated from ULM on that date with a bachelor’s degree in general studies, was pleased to receive his ring with such distinction. “I felt honored to be there, and it’s a good way to connect students and their families with the university.”

Tommy Walpole, associate director of Alumni Relations, was pleased at the positive response. “The ring ceremony is something we are very excited about. This was a nice way for students to receive their class rings, and all in attendance really enjoyed the event. We look forward to the growth of this program.”
