ULM SBDC to provide free State Business Tax Workshop Feb. 27
The University of Louisiana at Monroe Small Business Development Center will provide a free State Business Tax Workshop Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. in the ULM Administration Building, room 2-105.
The Louisiana Department of Revenue collects a variety of state taxes. There are, however, two types that are of great importance to small business owners and managers. These are: state sales tax and state income withholding. Every business that collects these taxes should register with the Department of Revenue before opening or immediately after opening their business to ensure that the required tax responsibilities are determined and met. This workshop will give you the opportunity to learn more about state taxes and your obligations as a business owner or manager.
Key topics include:
- who should register and how to register
- determining how much to submit
- how to complete the return
- when to file
- the requirements on record keeping
- and more
The speaker is Sharon Scioneaux, Monroe regional director for the Louisiana Department of Revenue and Taxation.
