VAPA hosts open auditions Oct. 1
The School of Visual and Performing Arts will host open auditions for Prelude to a Kiss at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1 in Spyker Theatre.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. (The movie version starring Meg Ryan and Alec Baldwin can be rented locally in video stores.)
Roles to be cast are: (3) male characters (age 25 - 35), (1) female character (age 20 - 30), (1) male character (age 65 - 80), (1) male character (age 45 - 60), (2) female characters (age 35 - 60) and ensemble characters (age 20 - 60).
All ages listed are for the characters to be portrayed, not the actual age of the actors auditioning. All roles are open to anyone of any age and casting depends upon who shows up for the auditions.
Performances of "Prelude to a Kiss" will begin Nov. 15 and run through Nov. 18. Prelude to a Kiss will be directed by Dennis Gleason, adjunct Theatre/Speech Instructor at ULM and Delta College and Artistic Director of the Strauss Theater. Mr. Gleason has directed over 80 plays and musicals including Off Broadway.
