National Merit scholar to major in biology at ULM
National Merit scholar Hannah Jackson will major in biology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe in the fall of 2007.
Jackson, the daughter of Tessa Towers and granddaughter of Flora Harper, graduated from West Monroe High School in May.
She is also the recipient of the President's Distinguished Scholarship and the Emmett Foster Memorial Scholarship.
"We (her family) are all so incredibly proud of Hannah," said Michelle McEachern, Jackson's aunt and associate dean for academics in ULM's College of Business Administration. "She has always set high academic goals for herself and has never wavered in her focus and commitment to achieving those goals. Although I may be a little biased, there are very few individuals at her age who demonstrate such maturity and who have such a well-defined idea of priorities for her life and education. More importantly, Hannah realizes that true reward comes as a result of hard work and consistent effort. Needless to say, I am thrilled that Hannah has chosen ULM as her university home."
