Awards presented at history and government convocation
Scholarships and awards were presented to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Louisiana at Monroe’s recent Department of History and Government Awards Convocation, hosted in the Bayou Conference Room April 26 from 4 – 6 p.m.
The following students received their respective honors:
- Matt S. Atkinson (a graduate student in history from Vicksburg, Miss.) - Thomas Y. Harpe Memorial Scholarship
- Michael H. Walker (a junior from Monroe)- Winton R. Mizell Memorial Scholarship
- Stephanie A. Markland (a senior from Monroe) - Ned Wright Memorial Scholarship
- Joshua Anthony Windham (a junior from Monroe) - Brian Gregory Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship
- Chuck Rand (a graduate student in history from Monroe) - Brian Gregory Graduate Student Award.
New members of the honorary history fraternity, Phi Alpha Theta, Epsilon Tau Chapter, were also introduced and presented with certificates of membership.
