ULM College of Pharmacy seniors recognized May 18
The ULM College of Pharmacy held a Senior Recognition Ceremony for 116 Pharm.D. graduates Friday, May 18. All graduates completed the professional program in pharmacy and received a doctor of pharmacy degree. Other first-, second- and third-year pharmacy students were also honored.
Kelly Jaubert and David Caldwell presented “History of a Pharmacist.”
The College of Pharmacy awards include:
- Lilly Achievement Award: Matthew Sewell (DeRidder)
- Merck and Company Awards For Excellence in the Basic Sciences: Shriya Bhushan (Baton Rouge), medicinal chemistry; Jamie Young (Bagley), pharmaceutics; Laura Doucet Hobgood (Lake Charles), pharmacology
- GlaxoSmithKline Patient Care Award: Christine LeJune (Baton Rouge)
- APhA –ASP Mortar and Pestle Professionalism Award: Candace Thibodeaux (Lake Arthur)
- Roche Pharmacy Communications Award: Catherine McDaniel (Denham Springs)
- TEVA Pharmaceuticals USA Student Award: Jessica Staples (Jonesboro)
- Albert P. Lauve Memorial Award: Nga Bui (Maurice)
- Mylan Pharmaceuticals Excellence in Pharmacy Award: Jamie Massia (Natchitoches)
- American Pharmacists Association Award Senior Recognition Certificate: Matthew Sewell
- The Facts and Comparisons Award of Excellence in Clinical Communication: Courtney Brown (Dry Prong) – by Mary Lewis and Ann Wicker, assistant professors in clinical and administrative sciences
- The Natural Medicine Comprehensive Database Recognition Award: Ashley Barbo (Monroe)
- Faculty Preceptor of the Year: Michelle Zagar, assistant professor in clinical and administrative sciences
- Non-Faculty Preceptor of the Year: Kevin Thompkins
