University Relations offers another venue for ULM news

The University of Louisiana at Monroe's Office of University Relations will start using an RSS feed to convey ULM news. University Relations will continue to distribute press releases to media outlets and the ULM Weekly News Update to all ULM students, faculty and staff.

An RSS feed is a web-based file that contains headlines, content and a hyperlink. Users can receive the RSS feed with an RSS-ready web browser or RSS reader and a live Internet connection.

"RSS feeds have become a very common technology to help 'push' news and information out to those who want it. Users 'subscribe' to the feed, and their browser or reader translates the XML file into a web page. By using an RSS feed, we can deliver ULM news almost instantaneously to those interested in ULM. And the RSS feed is a free service." said Laura Harris, director of media relations at ULM.

Subscribing is easy. From the ULM News page (ulm.edu/universityrelations/news), users can click on the orange RSS button, which provides information about the RSS feed setup. For those already familiar about how to use RSS feeds, copy and paste this link into their RSS-ready browser or reader:
