Willson receives honors from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association
The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Judy Willson won three awards from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Friday, July 13.
Willson, director of sports information, won first place in the fact sheet competition (Division II) for women’s basketball game notes. She won second place for media guides (Division I) for football, and third place for media guides (Division II) for women’s basketball. She also received an honorable mention in the fact sheet competition (Division I) for football game notes."
I'm excited that the hard work of our staff was recognized by the LSWA," said Willson. "We are continually striving to improve our publications and other collateral so that they are user-friendly and accurate. This was a great gauge to see where we stand against other universities in the state."
Willson also helped achieve victory at the LSWA golf tournament Thursday, July 12 in Alexandria. ULM’s John Holinka, assistant director of sports information, and Matt Deville, an alumnus from Bastrop and Tiger Rag writer, were on the team, along with Bob Tompkins (The Town Talk) and Blake Franke (XOS Technologies).
