ULM named ‘top 10’ donor; student recognized
For the first time, the University of Louisiana at Monroe made the “top ten” list for the companies that raised the most dollars in the 2006 campaign for United Way of Northeast Louisiana. ULM employees raised $49,758.51, an increase of 3 percent from last year.
The ULM United Way Committee set a goal of 51 percent participation of full-time ULM employees. They surpassed that goal with 52 percent.
Robin Logan, university planning and analysis and co-chair of the ULM United Way Committee, accepted the Campaign Leaders Award at a recognition luncheon today. "We are continually touched by the generosity of the ULM community, and this is certainly no exception," Logan said.
A ULM student was recognized for her significant contributions to Monroe and West Monroe. Freshman biology major Anna Beth Cannon of West Monroe, daughter of Kaye and Morgan Cannon, accepted a Youth Leadership Award at the luncheon. Cannon volunteers for the Girl Scouts, local food banks and animal shelters.
